Freesat Problem

Freesat Problem

Postby Mary M » Tue Jun 05, 2018 4:21 pm

Have 1.9 dish and use Freesat. Started to have proboems with a few channels like drama, really, yesterday pixelating quite a bit. Have rescanned the box a couple of times but made no difference.

Anybody got any ideas why?

Thanks
Mary

Same here. Been doing it for about a week and pixellates quite badly and often loses the signal. Gets better at night and I believe these are the really weak channels (Drama, Dave, Yesterday etc).
Would have thought a 1.9 would be great but ours is the same and have the same problem. I think it's been mentioned certain times of the year affect them badly as well.

We have been losing channels as well so this week we paid 50 euros for a Satellite installer/tuner to re-position our 1.9 dish which had moved during the recent high winds.
Now works fine.

dishes can go out of shape due to high winds...have to be reshaped by an installer...50-60 euros.

The signal always gets weaker in the summer and we lose some channels. Happens every year and cone back on later in the year. Assume it's something to do with the satellite position.

Been done. Still pixellates and the warning of it may or not work proved correct. Yes, they are a good company and got the signal better than another one I tried (for 40 euro) when I couldn't get them at all. Now at least I get them late evening.
It's all down to atmospherics and weak signalling in this area with possibly loads of other companies interfering.
A bigger dish is not exactly a good solution. 1.9m is huge already and I started with a 1.1 years ago and then a 1.4 and now a 1.9. Not exactly a cheap option either and a 2.4m dish is not practical unless you have a large (very large) roof space.
Give it 10 years and we can rename Ciudad Quesada as Goonhilly Downs.

You may find that there's something in the area that's interfering with some of the channels.
Where we live there's a Hydraqua pumping station that has some monitoring equipment which clashes with the Channel 4 signal. The nearer you live to it the worse it is, and when it was out of action for a few weeks the satellite signal improved dramatically.
