Freesat Second Cable Connection
Freesat Second Cable Connection
by Websitze » Wed Sep 07, 2016 4:26 pm
I have just been trying to feed a second cable from my quad LNB to my new twin tuner Humax freesat box and find that the cable channelling is blocked and will not go through.
Very frustrating to say the least as it should have only taken a few minutes.
There is already a cable there and it works fine, just can't get a second one through.
Before I consider drilling holes everywhere, has anyone a solution that may work for me? For instance wIll a splitter at each end work or is that too simplistic?
Any TV techie out there who can help will be very gratefully received.
Thanks

May be the cable is going to a junction box in the house and no a splitter will not work if you are looking to record

another option might be. you can also replace the existing cable with a twin core cable which is just a little bit bigger than a single one

Twin core, not supplied here (i'm sure you can get somewhere, but it is not from any wholesalers i've seen / we've used) - more common in the UK.
Or use a decent fish tape to pull the second cable through. As freddo says there is a junction box in most houses (central point where cables meet), so may have gone into this. Also if all else fails and cable hard to get through ducts - aside from a decent fish tape to pull it through, i've seen fairy liquid used once or twice!
You actually need to know where the ducts go in order to push the cable through - as more than often, not direct & need to feed from one point to the next.
