Freesat Tv

Freesat Tv

Postby kgerry » Sun Aug 25, 2019 3:57 pm

Hi, I have a Humax Freesat Box Model HB-1000S connected to a 1.4 meter dish in Aguas Nuevas. I did a factory reset in error and now I can't seem to get it working again. It's picking up some odd channels in STB mode but in Freesat mode it seeing no channels, I'm unable to enter postcode at setup stage as I have no broadband so that may be the problem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need broadband as you're running of satellite can you get into the menu? Perhaps you just have to rescan to get programmes back?

Perhaps you have got box working by now. If not then : Unplug the Humax box for a few minutes then plug in again. The system will reboot. This may clear your problem.
If you can access internet then find Humax website and use their chat line. Even though you are not in UK, the staff will chat and support customers.
Good luck.

With the Humax box, if it does not see a 50% signal strength won't always scan in on Freesat mode.

Issue with postcode (I can't remember which way around it is) is that either it needs the space between the digits in the postcode, or it doesn't - IE whichever way you have entered, try another way - any UK area postcode will do - you can google one.

If you are simply missing a lot of channels, in either the freesat or non freesat mode, then this indicates either a tuner issue or more likely a signal one - so dish may be slightly off or LNB/cable issue.

1.4m can be insufficient in some areas - even 1.9m can be marginal - so it might be useful to know how the box was working prior to the 'accidental' reset and also perhaps why the OP was playing around in the area of that function in the first place to make the mistake as it's not somewhere one would naturally expect to be fiddling about in on an otherwise satisfactorily working box?

Thanks guys for all your advice.
I got the guy from Television Technology to call and he realigned the dish and installed a new Freesat box so all is good, great company to deal with and very happy with their service.
The Humax box was unsuitable for Spain because of the weak signal but it works fine back in Ireland.

I tried a HB-1000S Humax Freesat box but it wouldn't work in Torrevieja area as the signal was too weak.
