I had the same problem, unplugged everything from the box, plugged it all back in and rebooted, worked for me.

Hi, Have a place in La Herrada, looking for a reliable switch on switch off internet service and a decent "box" to view TV from the internet. Has anyone used Amazon Firestick for TV? Thanks.

Hi - In order for this post to get noticed, would have been better to start new thread as this was only supposed to be a guide for internet / IPTV - which has subsequently got a little lost as a number of posts been added to it.

For anyone looking to understand IPTV and differences in equipment / hardware / service, start by heading back to the first post of this thread.

Amazon Firesticks or hacked ones in Spain using Kodi are the cheapest and not the simplest (by some margin) way of getting UK TV in Spain. Kodi (the media software) can be a little technical to use - If thinking like a Sky box or satellite receiver, think again - much more complicated & reliant on a number of different applications to provide content.

There are a few known issues. (1) Picture quality / variable (2) You are reliant on freely available streams - which are not always available. (3) No guarantees of stability as too many users on streams - no good for stable live sports. (4) Basically no guarantees of anything can be given as you are relying on free apps and free streams, so if something does not work or content changes - you are not paying anyone. Expect the odd technical issue. If not technically minded Kodi may be best avoided, as some simply cannot get on with this software - a long way from what many are used to on consumer hardware - use is not same as Amazon stick in UK, you are using other software (side loaded) to access content you shouldn't be, not the stock Amazon experience. iplayer etc will not work in Spain, unless using additional VPN.

In summary if wanting basic TV - filmon, then a firestick ok (edit filmon no longer available freely) - if wanting something that is easy to use (not using multiple applications), then cheapest is cheapest for a reason. A MAG box (review update at bottom) with decent subscription provider will give you a Sky like experience, proper catch up TV, TV guide and simple to use, integrated software solution. There are big differences in equipment / services and ease of use / channels.

There is a secondary issue, specifically relating to the Amazon products. Amazon have stated they are not happy with Kodi being put on their equipment and may introduce a block to stop this application, as they are under pressure from content providers as Kodi in the main is used for pirated content & as Amazons business model is selling this type of content officially, the use of their hardware to access pirated content may well not last forever - in which case a stock Android / linux box would be better for Kodi & not anything from Amazon.

There is an updated version (this whilst still mostly accurate written in 2016, below version on link updated) - here https://www.televisiontechnology.eu/uktv-in-spain#IPTV

For anyone who has ongoing issues with any IPTV provers and want to review if issue is with internet provider - there's a lot going on that most are not aware of! https://www.televisiontechnology.eu/instructional-guides-iptv (ISP checks)
