Pete,and Paul,you will never guess ,yes my fav channels have gone back to there original places.bugger,will try your suggestions next.

Just a thought, do you unplug the TV, or turn if off using the switch at the side, rather than leaving it in standby mode?
TVs have a small rechargeable battery or capacitor to store enough power to retain the memory settings such as channel favourites, picture settings etc. This isn't needed when the TV is in standby mode, but is needed when it's fully switched off or unplugged.
It's quite common for older TVs to need the battery/capacitor replacing as it loses its ability to hold sufficient charge to retain the memory settings in the TV. I realise that yours is a new TV, but it's possible that your backup battery isn't working correctly so doesn't retain your favourites unless the TV is left in standby mode.

Pete,No i only switch it off using the remote button,so left in stand by all night i have a android box on another source connected also so i never turn the electric fully off.If i do as you suggested earlier ie take my cable connection from my dish out of the tv and put it back into my saterlitte box should i still be able to do the tv scan if i lose the telly there will be nowt the matter(wife)lol.
