Options to change from Movistar

Options to change from Movistar

Postby linkwater » Sat Oct 08, 2016 1:25 pm

Looking to change my internet/Phone/Mobile package from Movistar as the monthly bill keeps creeping up. We have a fixed line into the house and can more or less see the phone exchange near the airport rd. I'd like a stable internet and to keep my phone numbers. Last months bill was €170 and we don't use the phones that much so anything to reduce the cost would be a plus. Can anyone recommend alternative companies?

On recommendation of a friend we went with Telfy
We get 5mb internet which seems to work fine and landline inc with 1000 mins free and choose which european country the call are to so we chose UK
We haven't included our mobiles yet but you can I think
Our package is 31 euros a month with an 80 euros installation fee
Hope this helps

Can anyone explain to me what are the benefits of having telephone as part of an internet package? I find Skype works great.

When making a doctors appointment the receptionists don't have Skype. Neither does my garage when I want to book a service or the furniture shop when I want to check availability of something. Come to think of it, nor do my insurance company when I want to renew. Or my bank, either. And connecting with Skype in Spain (especially) can be a nightmare. Plus my provider gives me free calls anyway.
I can see rather a few benefits.

Lots of people believe both parties have to have skype to connect, not true. I use it to contact the pension people in uk and banks etc. None have skype. Long calls especially to the pension people cost around 20 cents. Thats a lot of calls for the monthly fee internet companies charge. What do you think they use for your calls?

Thanks everyone. I may try a combination of skype and changing provider.
