Problems with IPTV

Problems with IPTV

Postby mondo » Sat Nov 23, 2019 1:31 pm

We are getting very frustrated with our IPTV system.. it is very unreliable.

Sometimes we can`t get Sky News, BBC news, BBC 1, even regional don´t come through sometimes.,... we start to watch a film and it gets about an hour into it, then freezes and when we re-boot it says, File Missing.. so we don´t see the end...If we watch video-club it can cut off the last two minutes of the show which is very frustrating.... .. we sometimes have to download a show so that we can watch it off our stick because it doesn´t work off catch-up..

It can take 2 or three reboots every morning before a channel will come through....

Is anyone else having this problem..??

Our supplier says this is our Fiber provider, Telfy, and we should tell them... (I suspect they will say it is not them)..

Is there are workaround for this problem..?
Thanks in advance..

We have a black box .. Infomir?... it plugs into the telly.. I presume it is wifi and the router is about a meter away...
The IP is Telfy and on the laptop we get about 60 to 80 Mbps, ping 4

When it is working well it is brilliant, but it has been getting steadily worse recently...we might have to find an alternative, but would prefer to make this work... but if that is not possible.... then not sure what to do

Your IPTV system is illegal so there is really no one you can complain to the police have last Tuesday arrested 12 people some from this area for selling these system they have closed down a lot of IPTV providers and are now looking at the customers this has been taken from.the Spanish press.

william, don't think he wants to complain to anybody, just wants to know if there is a way of improving the system, maybe a higher speed, some kind of booster, just asking what could be done to improve it. Most people read the free papers and see things on facebook and are aware its illegal.

If it goes down while Strictly is on I would rather tackle the Guardia Civel than my wife..

Mondo, you said that

""We have a black box .. Infomir?... it plugs into the telly.. I presume it is wifi and the router is about a meter away""

Yes they do have a twin wifi receiver in the box, which has to be set up properly to work, this is a link to the correct way to set up wifi on your box.

Although if the router is only a metre away, why don't you put an ethernet cable between the box and the router, that is the best way to get the maximum signal from your internet to the TV.

Thanks, .. the box was installed by the company who provides the IPTV service, it is less than a year old...I would hope he knows better than I how to set it up.. and we can´t use an ethernet cable because it would go right in front of the fire..

But thanks for the suggestions, please keep them coming...

Thankfully, it lasted through Strictly, so I won´t have to buy a new TV ...(a remote control has great ballistic properties..)

:D
