Recordable satelite tv

Recordable satelite tv

Postby Sara19 » Thu Dec 03, 2015 3:05 pm

Hi there,
Does anyone know if there is a product or package available which offers a recordable satelite box?
I'm not looking for a monthly instalment package, a once off payment if possible. We have Torresat at the moment which is ok for basic english tv & a few extra channels, but isn't recordable. Would like a good selection of English programmes and sports channels. I also have the internet box but the internet is very unpredictable where we live, so that isn't ideal either.
Many thanks for suggestions

Hi, we offer all of the above. One off payment, boxes that record - different types available.

Options of receivers which do not have any need for the internet, as well as boxes that use part internet & part satellite - depends on what features you require and your budget / location (as this is important for dish choice). A satellite dish will give you much better picture than you have with Torresat, HD option, Sky option and better audio (if you want to use a sound bar or surround sound system).

If you drop us an email on [email protected] or from a contact form on our website www.televisiontechnology.eu , I can send you down an information pack.

We have two Humax recordable boxes (2 tv's) which gives FreeSat but you will need 2 LMB points from your Sat Dish (I think they are called), 2 per recordable box. We brought them back from the UK whilst visiting there. Reliable and good quality but you must buy SAT ones and not cable ones. Hope this helps.

I have card sharing system and do not find it reliable at all especially when football is on. That system cost us almost 300 euros for box and monthly payments ..does not offer catch up or record facility.... A bit of a waste ... Spikey interested in the boxes you are talking about as we have a 1.9 dish ... Do you mean you need the LMB for tvs then connect the boxes to TVs ? :text-thankyouyellow:

Lizzie....I don't know all the technical terminology but the LMBs come from your dish like aerials and the cables are fed into your property, both cables are connected to the Humax box. The Humax cable then goes into any one of the TV HDMI connections. You can record two channels at the same time and also get HD channels. No catch up though. Hope this helps.

1. To get any sort of stable sports via a satellite system, you will be required to pay a subscription. Discounting the obvious, IE paying a Sky subscription, locally many use card share services - ballpark 10 euros per month all of Sky. Does need an internet connection, but not streaming so does not need to be that fast. Do not pay 300 euros for a box as did the poster above, a decent European receiver can be purchased under 150 euros. There are a few local 'companies' which are a little optimistic with some pricing.

2. What type of IPTV box are you using? If a subscription free / android type box, these are unstable on sports. Issue is too many people jump on the free servers where the games are shown, they overload, picture stops / stutters - even if your speed is good - so it may (or may not) be the type of hardware and way you are going about this to get the sports.

What are you speeds? http://www.speedtest.net

Different ways and different hardware - depends really on what content (Free / premium) & facilities (catch up. video on demand), you require.

To give you a rough comparative with Torresat, for the same money per month (IPTV) , you could get all Sky premium content, with the sports + Sports from other providers. Catch up TV (dial the program guide back to the program you missed and press play), video on demand - films & series / box sets to watch any time & even free - PPV type content & a 7 day program guide. However do need stable internet 2.5Mbps standard def. 5Mbps download for HD. You can get the Sky on the card share (at less per month), but without the catch up & video on demand that the premium IPTV services have.

I paid 300 euros for box, installation and years subscription as stated from your company Not 300 Euros for a box alone ...
