Satellite dish re-alignment

Re: Satellite dish re-alignment

There is a bit of confusion on this thread.

There is a difference of missing channels due to dish size / reception or issues with interference (in some local areas) and other issue - which may be related to something else, premium channels.

If using an 'unofficial' Sky type option. Then issues can also be with internet or the service provider - which is not related to satellite dish signal. If seeing 'scrambled' then this can indicate the issue is elsewhere.

If getting the likes of BBC / ITV, most of the Sky channels are stronger - so this would indicate may not be signal / realignment issue. If of course all popping up 'no signal' then a little more obvious !

Assuming you are o.k with scanning in - as long as it is 'something at 28 east) it does not matter if listed wrongly on your receiver - if an older model will not have Astra 2E, 2F & 2G - so anything at 28 degrees east and then BLIND scan - as this will pick up all the new transponder of the new satellites. If you delete all existing channels before - then run the scan, this will give you an accurate list of what your dish is receiving.

Paul,
Thanks for all the info, having deleted all channels & done a full the problem isn't resolved but I think that as we were using an 'unofficial' Sky supply that we have cancelled the 'supplier' has cut us off which is fine as we are now using something else so have the channels its just very long winded finding them at the minute.
