Hi Satandpcguy
Thanks for your replies, I think from what you reply it would be worth getting the system checked over. I have had a recommendatio from jpeg and I think I will get in touch soon. If you also have any recommendations for the Campoverde / Horodada area, it would help to have a choice. I am guessing that you and jpeg are too far away to call in.
Anyway, thanks again and if you both do not mind me throwing questions at you as I go, I will try to keep on top of this now.
Much appreciating your time and advice
thanks

You have a 1.35/1.4 offset type dish. The BBC HD's have been getting weaker. We did manage to find some specialist imported LNB's which improved matters when tested initially - 4 of 5 clients installed, got their BBC HD's back. Subsequently I have been informed the signal is weaker still and even with the best LNBs tested - perhaps if lucky 50/50 at best chance of getting the BBC HD back on a dish of this type, even with new LNB. So you can try - but in reality now, no one can promise this 100% on this type of dish - locally.

Also 7 years is a reasonable service life of an LNB *usually 5+ years give or take, so it is possible a decrease in performance could be in the mix. Additionally older cable can perish and signal loss can occur between the dish and receiver - so this could also be part of the issue. However given this known issue, even with all of that as stated, still could not guarantee or promise 100% stability.

Try and tune to 28.5 instead of 28.2 - for some reason we've seen a few receivers that when this has been done and no other reason - the HD's have popped in.

Thats very weird.
I cannot think of any reason why this would be the case.

No neither can I, but I have 3 reports from technicians who saw this on different receivers? Not picked up on blindscan or 28.2, but only 28.5 - BBC HD?

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the reply, this advice from you all has really helped. At the moment I have some BBC inc BBC4 and radio, so may not "upset" it for now. But given what satandpc guy said about ITV etc, I may be better to wait and see what happens at that point and maybe upgrade etc then, unless of course it dies on me. But hey, in the hands of the TV gods
Thanks again.
