Scart/HDMI
Scart/HDMI

OK, hopefully a techy will know.
I have and old, very old, Sony DVD/HDD recorder which only has a SCART on the back. I have been using a SCART to composite video adaptor and connected this to my TV. Works great.
I have a new TV which does not have a composite input plug, just HDMI ones.
I don't want to get rid of the recorder which has built in in Freeview and can record all the TDT channels from Spanish TV plus one quick button to change the audio to original language plus a brilliant editing facility so I can edit out all the adverts, change the title, split episodes and so on.
Now, I want to get an adaptor from SCART to HDMI. Yes, I've looked and they all say they are HDMI to SCART or SCART to HDMI.
I want to record from Spanish TV to the recorder and then replay back to the TV. Which type do I need? The HDMI to SCART or the other way round?
Each of the ones I've look at on Amazon say they only work the one way so does that mean I can record but not replay?
There is also just a straight cable with SCART on one end and HDMI on the other. Would that simple cable work without the adaptor?

Samsung QLED R60. Just the two way bit that is confusing, will they allow me to record and then play back?
The one in your link says Scart to RGB and is not HDMI compatible. That's what I had on my other TV (also a Samsung) and worked great but there is no RGB or composite input on the new TV.
However, in your link it says under "similar items" there is a HDMI to SCART and SCART to HDMI so I might give that a try as it's only €14.99.

That model does not have the new scart connector
The connector scart to hdmi =hdmi to scart may work but you will not get HD or 4K quality they are available on Amazon Prime on Amazon.es

The DVD recorder is so old HD wasn't invented so I can't get HD channels to record anyway. Picture quality from Spanish TDT is perfectly acceptable as it is only used for series to watch when there is nowt on Freesat (which is more and more nowadays).
Amazon Prime and Netflix are perfect, though.

Actually, thinking about it, I must have been having a duh moment late last night.
Of course, I'm not actually recording from the TV, am I? It doesn't come down a HDMI socket.
I'm actually recording direct from the TV aerial via the aerial socket on my wall.
I'm simply after something that will replay the recording back to my TV so it's now obvious (to me, apart from the fact I should think about it a bit more) that all I'm after is a SCART (from the DVD recorder) back to the TV via HDMI.
So a SCART to HDMI is all I'm after and, yes, loads advertised.
(Definitely glad that I'm getting old and can blame it on that. Now, what did I come upstairs for?)

You should be able to power it from the USB output on the TV
