Usually there is a notice on the screen saying sorry for no subtitles but i have found m0re4,ch4+1 and a couple of others where there arnt subtitles and previously there were

Can anyone shed any light?

Aso there appears to be a small square with diagonal black & white colours on screen in top r/h corner now. ????

There was a fire on Saturday evening at the "playout" centre in London used by BBC C4 and Five to send their transmission around the various broadcast platforms. This meant the broadcasters had to go into "disaster mode" as employees were evacuated, and apparently some damage to systems also. BBC moved playout to their own "secondary location" centre in Salford. Five managed getting a back up running quickly. C4 are still having issues across their whole channel portfoilio. And such, in this "disaster mode" subtitles for some channels / progammes are not available on various platforms (terrestrial, cable, satellite). Just a case of wait until they sort it out.
