We have an apartment in formentera and we use telecable.
We have the holiday package but I don't know if they still do it. I pay 18 euros per month only for the internet and 7.56 euros when I am not there. The apartment is a holiday home.
They have offices in st.luis and can speak English and are very helpful.
They can easily be contacted by phone.
From what I have heard the Internet and TV is not good in this area, but I have no problems with telecable. I use an android box for my tv and we can definitely manage with that.
We use mobile phones so have no land line.
Like the fact that they have a local office.

Hi,

In Spain, often it is better to separate out systems - as we do not generally get very good combined services. Better to pick the best internet connection you can find in your location, then pick the type of TV service based around your use / requirements.

There are a few options with TV. If you are happy with the UK terrestrials (around 200 channels in total), then a satellite system may be suitable. Suggestion of this is because is a one off payment, no need to switch on and off - pay for the hardware / installation & no ongoing monthly fees for the TV. You can also add Sky in to a satellite system - either via an official Sky box, or locally then unofficial systems, which need an internet connection (and cost around €10 per month). Certainly for free to air, you can't beat a satellite system for long term costs & also has the best (original) quality.

If satellite dish is not an option, then IPTV services are also available. With IPTV it is a bit of a minefield and you do have to tread cautiously as there is a great deal of differences in hardware and services being offered. For example the Android box mentioned by Shirley above, is not for all. Many people do not like this type of hardware as can be a little tricky to use and not always stable - but it's cheap. If you want something easy to use, with catch up and a 'Sky like' menu and program guide, then you need different hardware / service altogether.

Internet wise - our company installs on behalf of provider Telitec - they do offer a 'stop / start' package, though have a minimum use of 6 out of 12 months per year. https://tvtech.sharepoint.com/Pages/Int ... lanca.aspx

Telecable have had a few grumbles against them on other local forums (I cannot post link here to other forums) - however with these type of microwave services, performance will vary depending on your location - so someone in Torrevieja will be on a different transmission mast to Quesada, so sometimes you will get 2 people with the same company have both positive and negative things to say as get different performance. For internet, nearby neighbours are a good reference starting point.

3 meg is not great. There will be other companies locally that supply better speeds than this, such as Telfy / Skynetlink.
