I bet the Electric bills will have increased by a massive amount due to the TV being overused lately, Colour Tvs consume a lot of Wattage even when on standby

The newer LED type TV's don't consume much on an A+ energy device 43 inch 70 watts per hour (as much as an old light bulb). A new A+ 55 inch LG 85 watts.

Older TV's plasma etc - can use 4 x as much!

Rumour has it - that a lot of baking products are selling out - so looks like people are doing a lot more home cooking in general (have to, we're not eating out) - so combine extra cooking at home + baking and your oven uses a lot of electricity - suspect that's where some peoples bills will see the biggest hike.

According to google the average oven uses 2400 watts per hour on a medium-high setting - which is the equivalent 28 hours of TV viewing on a newer 55 inch TV. So a couple of hours a day of baking, you'll soon notice in your bill.

I also wonder - as the lockdown continues & the hotter it gets, more time at home with air con on (for those that have it), is also likely to whack up the bill a bit. Get those fans in!
