Yes, it's all down to the individual and how / why you use a UK number. Hope you find a good solution for your situation.

Im with 3 who have told me that im exceeding the roaming data limits
It looks as though i will have to cancel my 3 account and find another provider, but i think only O2 are the only ones not charging for roaming. ( for now )
Ive been thinking about Lobster , but will that affect my Ebay, Amazon & and i have a Staring bank acc.
Anyone on here with the same/similar scenario ? or advice
cheers

One option is to keep the account, but stop using roaming data, i.e. put it in airplane mode and just use it at home or in other wifi zones. Nothing is supposed to be changing with Three until May 2022 so maybe you've just exceeded the monthly allowance on your contract or other existing 'fair usage' limits?

I will face the same issue as the OP - banking apps need a mobile signal to send a text with code to enter. I need the network therefore and not just WiFi

It just occurred to me that I think Lobster only issue Spanish numbers however I do seem to recall seeing someone opening a Lobster account in the computer shop Quesada and they ported their UK number. Best to check

The OP only said they'd lost "data" roaming because they had "exceeded limits", not minutes and texts, which are normally unlimited these days, so that is what I was responding to. If you have lost the ability to receive texts that is a different issue. Even before the EU roaming laws were in place it was possible to send and receive texts, it just cost you more. No provider has said they are making any changes until at least January 2022. Three is May 2022. I am with EE and face the same potential issues, but they have explained their options which I outlined elsewhere in the thread.

Worth a try. Lobster will only be a Spanish number though. Spanish banks send texts to UK numbers so I don't see why it shouldn't work the other way round, but I've never tried it. My contract has 60gb of data and unlimited calls and texts. I use very little of that data as I'm on wifi most of the time, but I've not had any warnings yet. I think there are 'fair use' limits abroad of around 12-15Gb but that's more than enough for me. I also have a Spanish phone because you need it for such as the doctors over here, but I hardly use that otherwise. The crunch time will be the end of this year when I'll need to decide what to do. I'm wondering about a dual-SIM phone, but I don't know much about it. I'll start a new thread to see if anyone knows the pros and cons of that route.
