Watching sky tv

Hi all help appreciated
Have had my own sky dish 1.9 metre and had many years of trouble free viewing
Have recently upgraded to new smart tv but couldn't connect my old sky box as it had scart socket
My brother gave me his old sky box which is HD. Connected up ok but seems to be very limited what channels i can get. No ITV... but can get ITV plus1...
Cant get any HD channels. No cards in the box my brother kept them
Only looking for the free to air channels, nothing premium. Am i missing something or is it impossible to get hd channels without having a subscription card.?
The tv has got built in freeview but we prefer the sky epg set up and love sky news
Any advice appreciated.

On a Sky HD box, perhaps you have been allocated ITV1 HD on 103. ITV HD requires your dish and LNB to be perfectly aligned.
Same goes for other HD channels...from BBC...
IF you try channel 803, you may find you can get the SD version of ITV..
Dont need any viewing cards for BBC ITV C4 or Five for many years now, so that is not the issue
"The tv has got built in freeview but we prefer the sky epg set up and love sky news" - will not make a difference, as Freeview is UK TV via a TV aerial, not available in Spain (signals from the transmitter mast barely cover the UK, let lone reach Spain!), and not available via a satellite dish (different transmission types)

Hi thanks for reply
Perhaps freeview is the wrong word, if i attach ny lead from the dish direct to the tv i get the english channels but not keen on the operating system epg etc.
Will try 803 thanks
Would a new lnb get me the hd channels do you think, the one we are using is a few years old now. Plus the actuall dish is around 70 mtres from the tv would this be an issue. Even though we've always had good reception for all these years

70m is a LOT of cable, what are you using?
If your new TV was bought in Spain then it's extremely unlikely to have a Freesat tuner, if there is no Freesat logo then it hasn't so while it will still receive the Freesat channels it won't have the Freesat EPG.

We are in Quesada and have a 1.4 meter dish. We get 103 and 803 with no problem on a sky hd box with card.
But we have a second box without card and we don't get 103, but do get a perfect picture on 103.
