WhatsApp notifications

My mobile phone has stopped notifications on WhatsApp recently, I get a ring tone on
E Mails, but nothing on messages on WhatsApp,,,,,dont understand how to correct that as it used to work and now I cannot do anything to get it back to normal. Any ideas????

I had the same problem, I deleted the app and reinstalled it and then to worked fine

According to what I see/hear/read a lot of people are moving over to Signal messaging app as it’s seemingly far more secure than the Facebook owned WhatsApp. There are a lot of concerns now about Facebook using WhatsApp data for their own purposes. Signal reportedly encrypts data so that it can’t be stolen while WhatsApp has no encryption

There are other allegedly more secure messaging services - however, most don't use, which makes it difficult using anything other than FB/FB messenger or Whatsapp. I'd rather not use messenger as linked specifically within Facebook, which I have more concerns with. Mind you, unless you are up to 'no good' little point bothering - they already have all the data they need on you
