Where I can get my iPhone unlocked?

I had an iPhone 5 given to me in October and I am still trying to get it unlocked. The original owner had the "Find My Phone" software activated. I had the UK Carrier to unlock the phone from their system, (this took 3 weeks), but they cannot unlock the FIND MY PHONE software. I have been in touch with APPLE over the last few weeks trying to get it cleared, they have been very helpful in their responses but they will not clear the software unless they receive the Original receipt when the phone was bought. This is a security system in case the phone has been stolen. I have now managed to get a copy of that receipt and passed it to APPLE yesterday, I will let you know how this progresses!

 UPDATE FROM ABOVE

Finally I have an unlocked, working iPhone. They did tell me that the original receipt I sent them did not have all the information clearly printed - it was a fax of a fax, but I managed to interpret the info for Apple. I had a fax yesterday saying it had been unlocked and information how to set it up from the iTunes website. This is a warning to anyone buying a secondhand iPhone to make sure it does not have the "Find My iPhone" activated, if it has the seller must remove it. Just to clarify the "locking" process. When you buy a PAYG phone from any of the big carriers, like Vodaphone, Orange, EE, etc.... They lock the phones to their networks. This can usually be unlocked within 10days or sooner as long as you have had the phone for a proscribed period, it costs about £24. The Apple iPhones then must be unlocked,by Apple, if they have the "Find my iPhone" activated.
