Will NOW TV stick work with VPN

Will NOW TV stick work with VPN

Postby Ian2009 » Mon Jun 29, 2020 3:04 pm

Hi - I wondered if anyone has done this?

Basically, if I bring this “stick” over - will it work with my vpn?
I have noticed that when I access my Netflix or BT Sport accounts when in Spain - it tells me to turn my vpn off - so I just wondered if it would do the same with my NOW TV stick thus rendering it useless.

I only have the standard free “catch up players” on it but I do have a couple of Entertainment passes I wanted to use whilst hopefully out in Spain for a few months later on this year to watch a couple of specific series that my daughter has recommended and I can’t get on any of my usual players (Successions and Big Little Lies).

Thank you.

Increasingly content providers are blocking VPNs so if it's happening in UK then it's likely it will happen in Spain also.

now tv stick is authorised to work in spain for up to 30 days at a time. I was over for 3 months in january and got a now tv stick with sports pass. Worked absolutely fine. (after 30 days you have to use it in the uk to prove you still have a uk address) dont need a vpn.

hi ian,
just an add to my previous post. If you are going to be out in spain for a few months(as i was) we fortunately had 2 sticks, my partner had to come back to england for work in feb and march. She plugged in the stick at our home for an hour or two which then gave another 30 days for the stick i had out in spain hence i got 3 months uninterrupted sky sports
Its authorised. I got the info from the now tv website and as i said no vpn needed as its legal and allowed. Hope this helps
