What is the best way to get to Alicante please from Rojales. Don't fancy driving into an unfamiliar city. Was thinking of driving to the airport and then catching a bus? Also considered day trip but it's seems like a long day?

Costa Blanca coaches (Dave's) and Rosa tours do regular day trips to Alicante and pick up in Rojales (opposite the Consum and Aldi site). About 11 euro return.
Or you could drive into Gran Alacant or Santa Pola and get a bus, they run about every 30 minutes or park up in the Carrefour at Elche and the buses are every 45 minutes to Alicante.

You can catch a bus direct from Rojales to Alicante, can't remember the full timetable but we catch one at 1135am ish & the last one back to Rojales direct is 1900hrs. You can also get regular (that is every hour or so) direct to Alicante from Guardamar. If you Google autocares agostense you will be able to download the full timetable from Orihuela (via Rojales) to Alicante & Costa azul for the Alicante to Cartagena (via Guardamar) . We do these routes fairly often so know them reasonably well. Hope this helps.
Regards, Dave.
PS, if you're going to spend the day in Alicante, the bus fare €3-70 each way can work out cheaper than car parking & everyone can enjoy a glass of wine/beer etc in one (or more) of the many fine bars & restaurants in the city.
Cheers, HIC!!

Get the train from San Isidro near Catral if you've never used it. So easy and cheap. Wouldn't go to Alicante any other way. Good to get to Orihuela as well.

Janjan, why drive to San isidro when Rojales is just down the road?? The train maybe a nice "adventure" but the bus can be too & to be honest, doesn't take much longer than driving, around 50 minutes in total each way.
Regards,
Dave.

marcliff wrote:As from today, the Torrevieja bus to and from the airport have added 4 more journeys each way which will make the trips hourly from 0900 to 1300 and 1500 to 1900 from Torrevieja with 1000-1400 and 1600-2000 from the airport.
This is the summer timetable valid from 1st April to 31st October.
