Has anyone used the train from San Isidro to Alicante?

Postby jean sampson » Mon Jan 05, 2015 11:54 am

Hi has anyone used the train service from san isidro to Alicante, every time I try to look up on the website first it changes the day I am asking for (Friday 5/1) and then it says there is only 2 trains both appear to leave at 6 pm in the evening. I have tried renfe. and other sites and have a similar problem.

would appreciate any help thank you Jean

Hi,
I have used it several times to both Alicante and Murcia. Very good service...one strong tip...if getting on the train at either end, get there in plenty of time as the seats get filled very quickly.

I had a quick look on the renfe website and found the timetable no problem...looks like one train an hour. It might be helpful to go to google and put in " train from Murcia to Alicante" as the line has a special name which I can't remember... There is an English page.

Finally, for those of a certain age.... You can get a ticket ( Tarjeta Dorada) at the local travel agent which give a discount on all train journeys in Spain. The ticket costs around 5.5 euros a year and can be used at the ticket machines.
Hope this helps
