Quesada to Guardamar bus timetables (2016) and review

Postby Jan » Thu May 01, 2014 8:40 am

We went to Guardamar by bus for the day, from Quesada, yesterday (see the Timetable link below) and it was very easy.

Although the bus is not as regular as most of us would want, we found it was, more or less, on time at the times stated on the timetable. It's the Agostense bus (a very big coach with Agostense written on the side) going from Orihuela to Guardamar. Here's a photo of the bus at the stop:

Edit April 2016 ...This area may be slightly different than this photo as there has been some building work here but the bus stop is still approx in the same position.

We got the bus from the bus stop in the high street Quesada which is opposite the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) near the new Quesada Boulevard opposite the Deutsche bank. There are other buses from this stop to Guardamar- see latest timetable link below.

The bus was about 15 minutes late (not too bad really) . See this photo for the approx position of the bus stop (although the photo was taken before the Boulevard was built and the shaded roof over the parked cars has now been removed):

You pay on the bus and it's a comfortable air-conditioned coach.

The bus station is between 10 and 15 minutes walk to the beach.

We went on market day (Wednesday) and the market starts very close to the bus station, so we had a look on the market.

We then walked through the natural park (lovely views, beautiful park) on a long leisurely walk to the marina, where we stopped for a drink. Then walked back to Guardamar and had a very good (late) set lunch at 3pm in Jaen's Restaurant in Guardamar ( Recommended Topic to follow soon, although this place has been recommended before on TalkQuesada).

Afterwards we sat on a bench at the front watching the world go by on the beach, until we walked back to the bus station.
All in all a 'grand day out' and we will be doing it again.

Here's the link to the timetable below - Summer times (Verano) start from June onwards - Always check at the bus stop, bus website or ask in the town hall for the latest timetables:

You get to the marina by walking through the dunes at the Alicante end of Guardamar, there's a road that runs parallel to the beach, keeping the sea on your right. To go by car you can access it from the fountain roundabout near the boat dealers, it's signposted.

Thank you - Good directions!

We walked from the bus station straight on down towards the front and then turned left.
The natural park is there and its a lovely long walk to the Marina with the sea on your right hand side as you said.

It's in a road called Molivent. On the map below it's No 11 shown in a red circle.

Hope this helps - click on map to enlarge:

Is there a bus from Quesada to Guardamar?

Postby Stavanger » Sun Jun 01, 2014 12:19 pm

We have rented a car for our summer holdidays in Quesada, but have realized that it is probably too small to accomodate the stuff we'll be bringing down to the beach when we occasionally want to have a day of sun and sand. Therefore, is there a bus option from Quesada to Guardarmar?
