Booster for 65 -70 years

Postby Hilary4088 » Sun Nov 21, 2021 2:30 pm

Sorry if this has been answered already. My husband will be having flu vaccination and covid booster on Tuesday. He is 73. I am 65 and am having flu vaccination tomorrow. I asked about Covid booster when we went in to ask about getting vaccinated but was told only flu.
Lo Marabu surgery. Is it the same as the original vaccines and being done in age groups? Do I need to keep going to the surgery or will I be called in?
They are not very communicative at the surgery and I don't want to miss the booster as I have diabetes and fibromyalgia which increases vulnerability if I became ill.
Thank you

6 months have to pass from your 2nd jab before they will call you for the booster. If 6 months have passed ask again when you have flu jab

As already posted, only the 70 plus at the moment with the booster and over 65s with the flu vaccine.
The 60 to 69 age group haven't been called yet but will be "by the end of the year" according to the Min of Health. This will match up with the other covid vaccines and you have to wait 6 months and 1 week after your second one before being due.

All over 40s will start getting the booster vaccine in the New Year.
