Current Covid rules for social groups?
by Dee Roe » Wed Aug 25, 2021 1:39 pm
Can anyone help me answer my query.
I run a social group for ladies, and we have obviously not met since the initial lockdown. Our meetings were weekly, inside a restaurant, but we were not eating, but were having drinks. Our number can be anywhere between 50 to 65.
If we are allowed within the current rules, we would be within the 50% capacity for the restaurant, but are large groups allowed to meet to socialise, inside?

Yes as jpeg says, as that’s the way all the groups have been operating since restrictions changed sometime ago.
However restrictions end on 6th September. So the announcement next week could mean that life is very much back to normal
Can you post more information about your group please?
Lynn

I appreciate other groups have been meeting up for quite a while, using individual tables as a single group, which in my view was bending the rules, although understandable if they were a luncheon club.
Our club is not a luncheon club, we hold a quiz, play a few games, (some may see it as bingo) and occasionally have a meal, but every 3 months or so. We are not currently open to new members until we know the state of play on our return, as we have had difficulty in finding restaurants to fit us all in, when we do go out.

Thankyou Lynn, I will wait until any announcement on 6th September to see if we can legally meet.
