Just found this handy chart for returning to England after 19 July
See note at the bottom if you haven’t had your vaccine administered by the NHS

Except that now only allowed in without quarantine IF YOU HAVE HAD THE INJECTION IN UK, and what expat would have? As usual the UK government is up the creek

The government announced at the time that it was only NHS jabbed travellers returning to England, who would not have to quarantine and that this would be phase one.

Phase 2 which they mentioned later would most likely include British expats, vaccinated in their home country and would probably start next month.

This is only applicable to England, as the rest of the U.K. have not yet come on board. Plus there are still parts of the U.K. whose Heath authority do not issue vaccine passports.

I certainly wouldn’t want to travel to England on July 19 if they go ahead with their plan of scrapping social distancing and not having to wear a mask takes effect. Especially when they’ve said this could make the figures increase to 100,000 cases per day.

Just thought I would share this, as I saw someone on the forum quoting £80 for a Day2 returned to UK PCR test……

As everyone probably knows by now you have to book and pay for a test from one of the approved UK.GOV listed suppliers in order to obtain a reference which you need for your paperwork.

We booked ours last week and I found that when you visit the uk.gov list the there are many pages of test companies, the top ones on the list were like £100 each and several at £80. I scrolled down several pages and better prices could be found. Ended up booking ours for £40 each, they arrived in the post within 2 days so are waiting for us at home. It’s already a time consuming process to complete your documents but do scroll through that list of testing companies and save some money.

Just to add - none Of these are valid if returning to Wales. Welsh Government have dictated the test MUST be the NHS test, booked through CTM.

You have to put the address where you will be isolating on the passenger locator form.

There are lots of issues in UK about choosing testers.

Prices all over the place but mainly about £60-100. Biggest firm is Randox. Delivery of specimens to them is an issue. They have drop off points but all around 20 miles from me and mainly on motorways. No bus services.

Do your research.
