OK to take rubbish to the bins?
by Black » Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:25 pm
It may seem a trivial question, but is it ok to walk rubbish to the street bins? I have been doing so and it seems like a legitimate reason to be out on the street but I've not seen it specifically mentioned anywhere.
The alternative, storing it at home, would become a major health hazard.

They are collecting it so assume it's OK. That's our daily exercise!

Of course it is. If you look at other posts you'll see many references to what you can and can't do. The Guardia Civil site, the Interior Ministry site and many questions and answers in several of the papers that have been referred to.
Going to the bins is a yes.

Just make sure only one of you goes as Police stopped our neighbours as dad, mum and son walked to the bin and told only one person.

Think about who touched the bin before you! Wear gloves/wash hands. . . Be safe.

I have also confirmed with the Ayuntamiento that the tip is open as normal - I've been there getting rid of garden waste no problem.

Good point about wearing gloves when using the bin
Should do that in normal times but we never do I guess

But, the question needs to be asked, is it essential?
