Report positive result?

Postby freethinker » Thu May 19, 2022 9:47 am

I have come back from my holiday with COVID. I took a test on Monday. Do I just isolate until I test negative or do I have to inform salud?

From Matcliff:-. You don't do anything unless you have serious symptoms like breathing difficulties etc. No need to self isolate if you don't have symptoms but you are advised to take care and avoid vulnerable people for the next 10 days. Also wear a face mask when out and about and avoid crowds.

Only symptomatic cases in the elderly and vulnerable are being recorded and that's the same in most countries now. You should only contact a doctor if you have a temperature over 38C for more than 3 days. Obviously if you have chest pains, breathing difficulties or whatever then you should contact a doctor.

You should also inform close contacts in your household that they should limit their contacts for 10 days as well but there is no need to self isolate or quarantine.

This advice has been posted on the GVA site and in the health centres for several months now.
You can't download a recovery certificate unless it has been medically certified.

Very comprehensive thank you. I am 80 and have had 3 jabs but feel as though I have a head cold and it's symptoms. I think I ll feel better isolating until a negative result though.thank you again

Vulnerable people would be grateful to you if you isolate for a few days
