Spain's Red List countries

I can't find anything related to this, so does anyone know what happens when you return to Spain if you go on holiday to a country on Spain's red list? The country in question is South Africa which has just come off the UK red list. Do you have to quarantine or anything like that?

If on red list I do not think you can enter Spain

I'm not sure, but I've looked at the government website and it mentions residents returning but I can't understand what they are saying.

From 24th August no quarantine is needed when entering Spain from South Africa.

Citizens from non EU countries can only enter Spain from South Africa if they belong to any of the following categories:

a) Ordinary residents of the European Union, Schengen Associated States, Andorra, Monaco, The Vatican (Holy See) or San Marino who go to that country, accrediting it with documentation.

It also says people with a vaccination certificate recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Health will be allowed entry after verification of the documentation.

Thank you Marcliff, I was hoping that was the case. I'm looking at booking flights for February to see my 92 year old father who has been ill, including having had covid. Hopefully it will be off the red list by then anyway.
