Vaccinated overseas - Spanish recognition+certificate?

Postby johnno » Fri Dec 10, 2021 1:17 am

Does anyone know how this is done? I was vaccinated whilst working overseas (in Hungary) and am a resident here, I believe the vaccination I've had (including booster - which I have certificates for) can be logged here in Spain so I get the Spanish certificate? Thanks in advance!

I would have thought that with Hungary being in the EU that your certificate is similar to the certificate we have in Spain.
You will need to have a word with your salud, to get them registered to your SIP card. Take all the information you have, as well as your passport and residency details.

I emailed pdfs of my certificates, obtained in the UK where I had my vaccinations, to the receptionist at Lo Marabú medical centre and she had them added to my records. They now appear on the EU Digital Certificate when I log in with my SIP etc, so I guess the same could be done for Hungary. I am resident here too.

Some places, The Club was one, were using an old App which would not recognise anyone who’d recently had a booster. On Monday, a visiting bowls team, where some had COVID Certificates displaying 3/3 i.e., they’d had a booster, were denied access. To add insult to injury, Quesada Bowls Club are trying to claim the match when, it was their ‘owner’s’ tools that weren’t fit for purpose. So much for the Season of Goodwill!

Thanks! That seems to be what to do, to take evidence of the vaccination elsewhere to the medical centre and ask them to note it against your SIP. I'll try it next week. Thanks for the feedback.

It's best to take a print out to give her if you can. I didn't have one with me and she kindly gave me her email address so I could email it across there and then. They seem to prefer the paper version though.

Thanks again all - it worked today. Printed certs were inspected at the Salud reception 'on the spot' (no appointment after waiting in a short queue) and the dates & vaccine "batch numbers" (including booster) were noted by the clerk on the computer. Now associated with my SIP card and I can get the Spanish certificate online from tomorrow.
