Are there any kayaking fans in Quesada

Are there any kayaking fans in Quesada. I do it in the UK and plan to carry on when we make our final move to our place in Quesada in the near future.
I would love to meet some like-minded residents and get some hints and tips about what's available in our area plus the local 'fun police' rules and regs.
I would also want to fish from my yak, so someone with knowledge about what's on the hook would be a boon.

Hi Jordy,

I just had to look up what Kayaking was and am wondering what's the difference between a canoe and a Kayak?

Where do you Kayak in the UK- on the sea, rivers or lakes?

Hope you find some like minded Kayakers in Spain.

Jan.

Hi Jordy
We did a kayaking holiday last year & loved it - we'd never kayaked before & was a totally new experience & we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked through a company called Paddle in Spain - http://www.paddleinspain.com/sea-kayak-fa-9.php
I would recommend them, they we're really helpful & friendly, another place that you could go to do some Kayaking would be Casa La Pedrera - http://thingstodoinspain.info/
I'm afraid I don't know what the rules would be regarding just going out & kayaking on your own in the sea, sorry about that, but maybe one of the above places might be able to point you in the right direction, or hopefully another member might have some more info, Good Luck

Hi Jan,

I use a 'sit on top' kayak were you just sit on top of a moulded kayak as opposed to the 'sit in' kayak were you put your legs and lower body inside and seal yourself in with a rubber skirt.
Sit on tops are designed mainly as a fishing platform rather than a touring or as a surf riding thing like a sit-in type. I used my sit on top for fishing out at sea in the uk when the weather and tides allowed and also used to paddle up river to explore/chill out when they didin't.
Brought my yak out with me but, as calm as the Med usually is, I would still like a 'buddy' to be out there with in case of the unexpected.

A canoe is a 'sit in' but open craft propelled by a single ended paddle as opposed to a double ended paddle used for all types of kayak.

Thanks for your interest.
