Can you cycle along the Rio Segura foot path?

Can you cycle along the Rio Segura foot path?

Postby Lord Howe » Wed Jun 03, 2015 1:05 pm

Just wondering can you cycle along the Rio Segura foot path (if there is one) and end up at the Marina or camping site/Beach in Guardamar and if so leaving from the Golf club how long would it take at a normal cycle pace (you know like a vicar ridding through the village)
Thanks in advance for any help

It's approx 5 miles following that path, quite easy and a few info boards on the way :P

You can also go the other way too which is very scenic. The furthest we have gone so far is just passed Bigastro but it was still stretching out in front of us for miles :) We did find that if you want to end up the other side of Guardamar Marina (therefore the other side of the Segura) that the left hand path is best (as you cycle towards the Marina), this brings you to the Camping Marjal site and the relatively quiet beaches.
However, when going the other way inland, the left cycle path as you face the way you are going is the more cycle friendly (not so bumpy or overgrown).
We love these routes as they can be SO quiet - might only see a walker or two or a few lone cyclists.
Happy cycling
:D
