The river segura is very good for carp not sure where you live but you will need a license if you live on an urb get your administrator to get it for you about 30 euros for 3 years.

Hi there,

The Embalse de la Pedrera is regularly fished by the locals and by the local fishing clubs for many years. Access is sometimes difficult on the far side by the towers and depending on the level of the water which varies throughout the year, there can be quite a bit of undergrowth.

Fish are regularly caught, the most prolific being carp, barbel, and a various assortment of other types of fish, black bass, zander etc.

At Casa La Pedrera, Multi-Activity & Event Centre we have fishing tackle and rod hire for 20 euro for the day which includes bait ie. sweetcorn and bread. Access is good from this side of the lake with a tar road leading all the way down to the waters edge without needing a 4 x 4.

You will however need a license but you are welcome to drop by to see the facilities etc, and have a look around. If however you have your own rods, licences etc, you do not need to pay etc, but you are welcome to pop up and have a tea/coffee or perhaps even some lunch - It makes a great day out as the scenery is particularly beautiful.

There is not much shade, if any, lakeside so you do need to be well equipped from the sun etc. Hope you find this useful. and happy fishing :D

Directions. You can find the Embalse de la Pedrera on the CV950 which encircles the lake.
Casa La Pedrera is by the 1km mark, and is signposted.
From Quesada travel to the Los Montesinos junction, Motorway, AP7.
Take the Junction 751, follow directions on the roundabout to Orihuela/ Bigastro, on the CV945, until you come to the t-Junction ,
turn right direction Orihuela/Bigastro.,
Continue until you pass Restaurants Vista Bella & La Fortaleza ( between the 13km & 12km mark).
On the crest of the hill you will find a turning into the CV950 marked Torreaguera/Embalse la Pedrera.
Travel 700m Casa La Pedrera is on your right!

Never heard an Urbanisation Administrator getting a licence but good luck. Some tackle shops will get the licence for a nominal fee of €10, some translators who go to Alicante will also do the same! Check out this site, it's one of the local ones and actually has info. you may be able to use, it's a club I'm a member of -

Good luck
