Is there any badminton groups in this area?
Is there any badminton groups in this area?
by Gordonchapman » Fri Oct 03, 2014 1:19 pm
i am interested in playing badminton but could find nothing on the forum.
I remember someone said there was several groups in Guardamar but don't know where and when.
It is a very long time since I played so I would be classed as a beginner....will they cater for the likes of me?

There is a group every weekday at 11am in the Sports Hall which is on the seafront at the North end of the promenade in Guardamar. It is run by Alan and Gill Ludlam. Everyone is very friendly and it caters for all standards. If you are a beginner then probably it is best to go on a Tuesday or Thursday at first and then progress from there. It is €3.50 for a 2 - 3 hour session and everyone mixes in so you will be able to play with people of a similar standard and receive a bit of coaching as well if required. Shuttlecocks are supplied and you can even borrow a racket to begin with if you don't have one. They are also quite active with social activities as well if you want to participate. Having said that the sports centre is closed next week on 6th, 7th and 9th of October 2014 so you may have to wait till the week after. Good luck!

Paul,
Thanks for your response and the PM's.
