La Vuelta Cycle Race in Torrevieja on Sunday 30th August

La Vuelta Cycle race (Spanish equivalent of Tour de France) starts a stage this year in Torrevieja on Sunday 30th August. It should be interesting to see. I don't know where they set off from in Torrevieja but I am sure it will be advertised nearer the time. The "Vuelta ciclista a España" is running through Torrevieja next Sunday. The start is at "Estatua del Hombre del Mar in "Paseo Juan Aparicio" at 13:18h. Then continue along the main Torrevieja streets. Finally the tour heads to "Salida Lanzada" direction to Alicante at Av. Ronda Samper, through motorway N-332. Cycled to the end of the Lemon Tree Road to the N332 to watch La Vuelta. There were lots of people also there to watch. It was great seeing the cyclists and seeing how fast they go.

Did anyone get to see the start of the race yesterday as it started in Torre? Don't worry it has rained nearly all of the weekend here in East Anglia it's a shame for all the Bank Holiday fetes and shows planned for the weekend.

I was so disappointed in the tv coverage of La Vuelta, we had to go out and so I recorded the race only to find that the tv company didn't show the section from Torrevieja, they only showed it from Benidorm up to Calpe and onwards. Shame as I was really looking forward to seeing some of the Torrevieja Guadamar, Santa Pola section as these are the areas that we visit when we stay in Quesada.

Did you watch it on ITV4 or Eurosport? I watched Eurosport & they were an hour into the race before their coverage started. ITV usually show even less but I didn't see their coverage of Sunday.

Hi I watched it on Eurosport,we were so excited thinking we'd see some glimpses of the bits of the coast that we have visited but not to be......never mind we'll just have to come back for another holiday

Really disappointing tv coverage from both channels. Would have been nice to see our area being covered.
