Pop up to the bar at the top of Quesada which has tennis courts at the back and when you see some of the youngsters playing ask them, they are very good players. the only one I know is Torrevieja tennis club which is up at Los Balcones

Hi !
I moved here from the UK a few months ago and had the same issue. They don't seem to have the same social club play here in Spain. There is an excellent club in Algorfa, I have made contact with a mainly Dutch crowd who will resume their group play soon. You can join for a very reasonable cost (30 something euros a month) or pay as you go. Also there is a group of very fine people (mainly Brits) that meet Tuesdays and Thursday (3.00/5.00) afternoons at the courts in Quesada.
It depends on how competitive you want to be, most people here just want to socialise and have fun. I am told that the club in Torrevieja is for more serious players.

We’ve moving over in February and I fancy giving tennis a go. I’ve never really played before so just looking to have a knock about and get some exercise at the same time. There are courts at the bottom of Calle Islas Chafarinas, the far end of Av de los Regantes (near the top of Pueblo Bravo) but I have no idea how or where you can book them. Does anyone know please?

This does not answer the original questioner, but Quesada courts can be booked at the reception on Plaza Blanca - 965725722. If you want social tennis start with coach Steve Durie who runs various social groups in the area - 635061439. Or just chat to people who are already playing. We have not found proper competitive tennis anywhere we have been, but Almoradi club (at Algorfa) and Torrevieja Club are the most likely places.
