Walks along the coast .
Walks along the coast .

This might sound daft but does anyone know if walking from La Mata to Torrevieja is fairly easy and can be done by walking close to the coastline?
I'd be interested to find out if it's not too challenging .
Thanks
Simon

Yes, depending where you want to end up it's around 6km. A bit hilly, up and down, past the Cabo Cervera area, but otherwise flat and easy.

Thanks Paul,
Realising that walking 6 km is relatively easy i have not taken into account that it will be a 12k round trip to get back to the car again which maybe too much for my wife.
Is there a spot to park near La Mata which is closer to Torrevieja and allows a decent walk with a lesser distance ?
Sorry for the questions and i will look over Google Maps later but interested to hear from people who have maybe walked this route before .
Thanks

In that case, I would park anywhere on the Torrevieja side of Cabo Cervera (where the Masa hotel is) and walk from there. That way you can walk as far into Torrevieja as you want and all flat. Equally there is a coastal path all the way from Punta Prima to Campoamor which you can do in shorter sections on different occasions.

A nicer walk is from The Missisisppi restaurant into La Mata itself. Park up and walk along the water fall and through the park, over the sand dunes and along the coastal walkway. Here's a map of the restaurant. From the Mississippi and heading towards Torrevieja is a very steep hill and to be honest its not the prettiest of walks.

Good tip Chrisdee, I’ll give that a go!!!
Simon, I take the CV898 along coast into Torrevieja and park on the sea front by Playa de Los Locos. It’s then a flat walk along the sea front, you can go to the port if you feel up to it and there’s plenty of cafes to stop at along the way for refreshments!! Enjoy.
