Life drawing

Life drawing

There is room for one more artist this Friday (8th)
So if you'd like to learn to draw from life, come on Friday for a free taster class.
(And there'll probably be more spaces available on following weeks - e.g. only 2 artists booked in for Friday 15th so far.)

Every Friday I run life drawing classes in my Rojales studio with models travelling from all round the world to sit for our small group.
I know it's not the subject that most folk would chose for their art and it is the hardest thing to do, but it is the best way to learn or improve your art.

You can learn limited basic art by copying some of the great master's paintings & copy their methods, or you can develop your own style and method by drawing say bowls of fruit - still life...
BUT the challenge is to translate a living moving live person into 2 dimensions.

It's not like taking a photograph & making 3 dimensions into 2, but there are other hidden dimensions when drawing from a live model - there is your perspective of how you relate to the subject, there is your own personality, there is the personality of the model and however good the model is - and we have some really good ones - the model is going to move whilst you are drawing her or him.

Presently I limit my classes to between 3 & 5 artists - due to size of studio - and only run them on Fridays from 11am to 4pm with an hour's break for wine & tapas.
However if there is demand, I will run other days and evenings etc.

Classes are very relaxed wih music and chat etc. and no-one will tell you your work is bad, but we encourage each other to improve.

Materials and lunch are provided free & first session is free too.
But otherwise the cost is the model's fee of 60€ for the day divided between the artists - so between 12€ & 20€ for the day.

So are you up for a challenge?
In my dictionary there is no such word as 'can't' & if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
Remember: "If you can draw life, you can draw anything!"
