Bodegas Faelo wine tasting only 25 minutes from Quesada

This is a small family run bodega. Well worth a visit. You do need to book (link to website at bottom of page)

There are two prices for the visit

10 euro includes tasting three wines (red, white and a dessert wine) as well as bread with olive oil, a selection of meat and sausage, two different cheeses and to finish date and fig bread (served with a sweet wine).
15 euro includes four wines and an individual dish per person.

And look out next year for the (FestaVeremaFaelo. The festival of the grape harvest) this happens in September free entrance. Wine and tapas 2 euros. We went yesterday absolutly brilliant, details taken from their website below

Another of the wine tourist activities that Bodegas Faelo perform is the #FestaVeremaFaelo. The festival of the grape harvest is held during the first half of September. The so-called #FestaVeremaFaelo is an Open Day celebration where visitors can see and participate in the crushing and treading of grapes, just as the first generation of winegrowers did it more than a hundred years ago, with the same utensils.
The festival of the grape harvest is a public event which brings together people from all over the province of Alicante to see how grapes are harvested by hand and, after that, how they are crushed and tread by foot, with espadrilles of esparto grass and to the rhythm of a constant dance. People may participate of this festival using the so-called “afollaor” or “afonador”, the old wooden tank where Faelo’s ancestors trod the grapes to press the wine out of the grapes. Visitors also have the opportunity to see how grapes are pressed with a hundred-year-old manual press, where all the grape colour is extracted.
In addition to all this and in order to regain strength after the grape-treading, our visitors are offered the opportunity to taste typical local food from the countryside area of Elche and, of course, wine from Bodegas Faelo.
The day when #FestaVeremaFaelo will be celebrated is published in social networks every year, since it is a public event.
