Coach trip to Alicante with Rosa Tours

Coach trip to Alicante with Rosa Tours

Postby Jan » Tue Jun 03, 2014 10:05 am

We had a lovely day out in Alicante with Rosa Tours by coach when we were in Spain last month. Only 7 euros each and they picked us up outside Consum in Quesada. They also do other pick ups including the arches.

It was a very nice trip and well worth the 7 euros, to not have to drive and park. We could both enjoy the scenery and the coach guide was very good, pointing out things on the way.

It's a 'do as you please day' and we went to the castle and had a walk around the city. Then we went to lunch at this place (see photo below) called 'Restaurant 100 Montaditos' in a road called 'Calle San Vicente' where there are lots of shops and restaurants, walking up from the beach area it's on the right, on the corner of Calle San Isidro. There are other branches of the same restaurant, possibly two others, around Alicante as well as it's a large city.
It's an unusual place but incredibly cheap as everything including large beers, wine, any plate of food which can be a selection of different mini fresh rolls filled with whatever is chosen from the menu is 1 euro. We had a plate of rolls, with two choices of fillings each choice is a euro, which includes crisps (enough for two people for lunch) and a plate of potato fries with four different sauces in little dishes included, a large beer, a glass of nice wine (all for 5 euros). The salads which look very good too are the only thing that are 2 euros. They do this deal on Wednesdays and Sundays:

Here's a page from the menu but there is lots more. You have to write what you want, by numbers, onto a printed slip which are on each table and take them to the till and pay, you get given a receipt and wait until your name is called to collect your food at a serving hatch:

I think they have one in Torrevieja (Habaneras I think) as well as they are a chain of restaurants: http://spain.100montaditos.com/
We then spent the rest of the afternoon around the beach and harbour and got the coach back at about 6pm.
A good day out! We will do it again.
I'm sure David's coaches do the trip too as well as Rosa tours. We booked in the shop in Quesada but you can also book by phone.
