Trip to Cuenca with David's Coaches
Trip to Cuenca with David's Coaches
by Jan » Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:04 pm
We went on a lovely 3 day trip last week to the Cuenca region. We went with Davids Coaches because the dates suited us but Rosa Tours also does the same trip.
It was good value at 141€ per person, full board with wine and water included with the meals.
There are daily excursions included and we were taken to see places like the enchanted city, window of the devil, source of the River Cuervo, Las Torcas, Cañete, and the city of Cuenca. A BBQ and paella lunch in the mountains was also included on one of the days.
It was a busy three days but great fun. The country 3 star family run hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly. There was dancing each evening after dinner for those that wanted to and the last night at the hotel was even more fun as a Spanish coach party had arrived and they were showing us how to have a good time Spanish style!
It is an all action trip but highly recommended !
Quote from Davids coaches website:
"This village is the ancient capital of the region and even has its own medieval city walls. The journey to Cañete, is varied and interesting. Flashing past medieval castles, modern towns and ancient villages. Winding along country roads bordered by flowing rivers, pine forests and cultivated fields. Stopping en route with a chance to sample local wines and cheeses.
On arrival at the hotel we go straight to lunch. Served with liberal quantities of local wine. During our stay we will visit the local village of Cañete, take in some multi-coloured lakes, travel through gorges to "The Enchanted City, "Window of the Devil", Source of the River Cuervo, and of course the City of Cuenca with it delightful Cathedral and world famous hanging houses."

I also went on this trip on a different tour and found it to be a fabulous trip, the guide, driver, hotel and food were excellent. Has anyone been on their tours to other places, for example, Ronda or Toledo? Both David's and Rosa's tours seem to be good, so either experience would be welcomed.++
