Community Fees
Community Fees
by marcliff » Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:19 pm
Just a quick question for those in the Dona Pepa area. Our community fees have virtually doubled since we moved here some 4 years ago. How much is your community fee per year? I would be grateful if you could just put the amount and the community as I want to query this at the next AGM. We do have quite a few debtors (people who bought several properties hoping to get a quick sale and profit which hasn't occurred).
We used to have a flat near Villamartin which had 5 swimming pools and associated garden areas and we were told that our community fees there were expensive compared with other communities but we are now paying double what those fees were so I think it's a little on the steep side.
Thanks

My community fees (3 bed end of terrace) on Conjuncto Ronda, Dona Pepa are €520 a year. That having been said we have had additions this year! We have had to pay €30 into a "pot" for future pipe blockages (a common occurance if you have any let properties nearby!) and €100 for urgent repairs to the pool. Our community fees have hardly altered in the last 7 years - and personally I think that they should go up otherwise we won't be able to build up a big enough kitty. Probably €600 would be a more realistic figure now.
Debtors can also cause havoc with the fees - especially if you have to take them to court. Not only do the court costs come out of community fees, but of course you also lack the finances from that/those particular property/properties. We have got a few debtors and are going through this process - and are trying to force the sale of some houses - the problem there will be that the places will take some time to sell!! Will have to face that problem when we come to it!

Lo Marabu Urbanisation is only 150 euro a year but it is a large development with lots of houses.

Mine are around 500 annual But an element was originally to cover debtors shortfalls but our Presidente has addressed the majority of these. We have a higher tariff too because of the voting/catastral

I know....I wasn't laughing at the community charges...just Sandra's comment. We have loads of houses so the charges are much less, there's no comparison with a smaller development.
