AIRPORT CAR HIRE

Hi, does anybody know if car rental companies are still operating at Alicante Airport? I hired a car through doyouspain.com (the actual rental company being RECORD) for an April trip which obviously now won't happen. I have tried to cancel the booking but they refuse to refund. If however RECORD have stopped renting cars then I assume that they will have to refund.

All hire cars have been stopped.
They are only allowed to open their office to allow customers who have hire cars to drop them off.

From Record (Spain) website all new car rentals are forbidden until end of state of Alarm (currently 11th April, but . . . .) only drop-offs allowed.
Presumably if your rental was after 11th, it has not actually been cancelled yet, so technically no refund due I expect . ...
Doyouspain are a Broker and presumably you made payment to them so your contract is with them not Record until they have undertaken to supply the car . . .

If the company is prevented from hiring a car to you on the agreed date they will have broken their contract and surely must refund. If they refuse (in my view improperly) claim back from your credit card provider

Doyouspain are the company to take it up with, they are your provider.

Hi, we also had a car hired from record through do you Spain they wont refund but have said will keep it on credit for us.
