Here in our ex pat immigrant bubble maybe, just maybe we forget there could be a bigger picture involved both legally, for the millions of UK holiday makers who as I understand it could have their driving details accessed by Spanish authorities with no prior legal representation, or politicaly for the inhabitants of said Rock.

Well don't go to Italy then as you need to take a test if you took up residency after Brexit. I wonder what Gibraltar has to do with Italy? And Portugal had a transition period as well. If you hadn't changed your licence within that time then you need to take a test.

Yes
Not being "difficult" just exercising their right.
No

Spain wants to be able to trace drivers not just owners, a facility they had before Brexit, UK doesn't want to give it to them.

The decision to not grant a further extension will have been out of frustration and designed to force UK's hand so don't blame Spain for the fiasco.

Make no mistake UK doesn't give a monkeys to55 about affected Brits or want anything to do with anything which threatens BoJo's pathetic amd damaging image of sovereignty, that's why we are where we are.

I don't think that it's Spain being difficult. They've asked for the same access to data that they had when the UK was in the EU but the UK is refusing under some data protection issue. Personally, I don't see a problem with this. There are lots of agencies in the UK that have access to drivers data, such as cowboy parking companies etc. Why shouldn't Spain be able to enforce traffic violations by UK motorists.

Hi All,
I would suppose that now Grant Shapps is chasing the job of PM, he will be too busy to follow up on the licence situation, and the supposed agreement will be put on the back burner ?, Again ?

Don't think it's in the Secretary of State for Transport's brief is it?

You don't know everybody's circumstances, so don't judge.
Some people have a right to moan.

For those who have been here for years I agree and they get little sympathy from me however many who correctly registered before Dec 2020 but still have not managed to effect an exchange due to either to DGT's inefficiency or loss of records find themselves in a position not necessarily of their own making so deserve consideration.
