Buy or rent?

Buy or rent?

Postby Kab123 » Tue Sep 28, 2021 12:41 pm

Hi, we have flights booked for 4th October but have been unable to find a car to hire anywhere (except the extortionate airport big boys who we have fallen foul of the past!) we are thinking of buying a second hand car at some point and have seen a car on caroutlet.es which comes with a 12 month warranty and can be delivered to our house. However, I have read some confusing info about registering the car with the traffic office and have no clue what I would need to do - does the dealer sort all the paperwork? Don’t really want to buy a car sight unseen - any advice on buying or ideas of where to hire a car would be gratefully received!

Try Peter Kennedy of Hereandthere car hire 00 34 649173739 ( also whats app) [email protected] Like all the car hire places at the minute they are pretty full of bookings but worth asking in case they have a spare. They are local to Quesada and pick you up/bring you back to the airport with car here delivered to your accommodation. Also they sometimes will sell some of their older cars after season ends so could be worth asking that too. They know people who will do the paperwork transfers for you. (Yes you have to get new car ownership etc registered with Trafico in Alicante or Elche. Involving an in-person trip or someone you authorise to do it for you.) Incidentally ex car hire cars worth thinking about buying as they need to be well maintained to keep them on the road and they have an ITV every six months...

If you buy from one of the local car dealers ( and I am sure many people will have recommendations on those too ,) they will usually handle the paperwork for you.

That’s brilliant!! Thank you! Did they do all the paperwork and registration for you, or did you have to do it?

Hi yes they do all the paperwork for you. If you buy the car online you get 13 months guarantee, fully serviced and valeted 12 month ITV and a full tank of petrol also when the paperwork came they gave us a voucher for €15.00 to replace the petrol they had used to deliver it!! Tell Lia Jules and Dave Munday recommended them, you won't be disappointed.
