Many thanks. I had initially booked with Centauro but noticed you have to pay 120euros for wheel/windscreen insurance. This pushed the price upto over 700euros for car rental. I've just booked with Rentagain which seems fair on pricing and added insurance.
Will look to see what price budget can do also.
The better the car deal the more sangria money I have;)

Thanks again

Try Aquacar - A good local company with an office at Alicante airport, Rojales and La Marina. No pressure to buy additional insurance, helpful and polite. Never any problems.

Have used Aeroautos http://www.aeroautos.es/eng/index.php now for a couple of years and no problems at all. No nasty surprises and no queueing at the airport. Just call in and pay them at the Quesada office within 24 hours of picking up the car.

Many thanks. I've decided to go with Rentagain for this trip. Will let the forum know what there like so others have options for car hire.

Hi, re charge for broken key, we emailed goldcar on several occasions ,no reply, phoned Valencia customer service they don't take calls you have to email! So got in touch with credit card and told them what happened they filled out an online email and lo and behold the next night email from goldcar refunding our 115 euro, how's that for service, found out credit card co had been in touch with them during the day. All happy now. :)

Hi, I think we have tried every car hire around sometimes prices are great but things like this happens and the staff don't make notes on the paper work and don't really care, but sometimes they are great, just your luck really.

Never had a problem with Goldcar and normally use them and pay for priority access when booking on line as it avoids the Q. You could also try Drivealia they were very good also.

Hi we;ve used Record, Goldcar and Centauro with not much to choose between them. I've stuck with Centauro the last three times and with them again this coming time. Never had any hassle and after three bookings you get automatic enrolment in their Gold member scheme which means you can collect the car keys direct from the car park office, by passing the queues at their downstairs office at Alicante airport.
Last time over the car had the misfortune of having a window broken. Centauro replaced the car that day and although I had to pay their excess, hadn't taken out their extra insurance, there were no problems getting the information report from them that I needed to make a claim against my own hire car insurance that I'd taken out for the year.
As I say, using them again this time, and I've even emailed them and had a response, that the particular type of car that I want will be available and not the "or similar" option.
