CAR HIRE - RECORD RENT A CAR

CAR HIRE - RECORD RENT A CAR

Postby panchotaff » Sat Dec 21, 2013 3:24 pm

Hi

Has anybody Hired a car from Record Car Hire @ Alicante Airport.

Just got a quote on the Internet and they are quoting about 50% less than other companies ( I appreciate there will be the normal add on's for Fuel etc). They are quoting £130 to hire a Ford Fiesta for 33 days!

Just wondering if anybody has used this company and if you found them to be OK

Many thanks

If it looks too good to be true it probably is!

That does seem incredibly cheap. We usually hire for a week during our stay and that would be a reasonably good price for only a week in Low season but for 33 days it seems much too good to be true.

I think I would be tempted to email and ask what is included for that and what is extra.

I just checked the on-line price, with Record, for 33 days from January and it was around that price too - would love to know how this rental works out if you do book it. The place where we usually get our car hire from would be around £500 for 33 days from January.

Please let us know.

Hi we use all the airport car rental firms , 130 euros is a good price they won't have any catches just fuel charge of about 85 euros on pick up and return the car empty on fuel , the other charge they will try is extra insurance to cover glass and tyres which we always decline , there normal no excess inclusive insurance covers you for all standard road things , if we were to get a puncture we would just pay for a new tyre with the saving made by not doing the extra insurance cover for the past four years

Hi Panchotaf
We have used them about five times and have
HAd no problems with them. Always had good service. They do add about 90€ for fuel and if you don't take the extra insurance they take a 500€ deposit.

We had a car two months ago and someone hit it in a car park. Record go didn't bother as bodywork is covered as standard, with no excess

Hope this helps

Hi

We are back and forth to Algorfa and always use Record car. They do charge for a full tank but we think it still works out cheaper than other companies. They will try hard to sell you additional insurance so you have to be firm and we have never had anything deducted from the deposit which they take from your card. The queues are always much shorter than for Gold Car and whilst a couple of the vehicles we have hired have had scratches or dings, they have always been mechanically sound and we have certainly found them to be OK.

Thanks all for the information and advice - After looking at the feedback on the Internet I decided to cancel my booking with Record and have booked a car direct with Dickmann's. Again a good price for 33 days - 194 Euro ( which includes 1 additional driver ) + fuel + any additional insurance I decide to take out. If I do not take their additional insurance I will be required to pat a deposit of 350 Euros which is refundable on return of car.

Again many thanks for the help.

Have already booked April with Aeroautos at a cost of Euros 195 all included, no insurance deposit for 10 days from 14th to 24th April. Plus no queuing at all at the airport.

Dickmans are off airport they meet you outside the terminal and transfer you for about 10 mins to there off airport depot , on return you get transferred back but at busy periods it can be a pain , the transfer driver is also a typically mad Spanish driver !! It's an experience !!!
