Car Tax
Car Tax
by Ron Hill » Wed Mar 21, 2018 8:38 am
i saw a post elsewhere where a poster is paying € 42 a year tax for his 1.6 SUV. Yesterday I paid € 106 for a 1.9 Kia Sportage 4.2 (not 4x4) 2010 model seems a big difference for just 2 engine sizes

The car tax charge depends on where you live, engine size, and petrol or diesel.
It seems Rojales car tax charges are cheap compared to other places.

From my bills they are the same. Diesel one now but petrol before that and both similar types but car tax was about the same.
Depending on what area you are in, the car tax will be different for each one as the town hall sets the price depending on the amount of work/maintenance required. Live in an area with not many roads (Motorways and N roads are national government responsibility) and loads of people then it will be quite cheap. In a large town with more roads then it will be more expensive.
It may go up in this area this year as the work on the Quesada Avda de Naciones will need to be factored in.
Due very soon so it would be interesting to know what each municipal region pays.

I believe that emissions affect the price, as well as which town hall is collecting the tax.
We pay €44 for a 1.5 diesel with a Euro 6 engine.
Geoff.

When I received our Car Tax bills in the post, I simply went online at www.suma.es and paid them. No visit to a Suma office or other documentation needed.
