Driving from St Malo to Quesada

We will be driving from St Malo to Quesada with a hired van. Any recommendations on the best route? Also recommendations on the Best Hotel for an overnight stop before the Pyrenees. Must have secure parking and be pet friendly.

I would use google maps and booking.com for accomodation.you can filter for toll free roads abd take your time travelling down. Also filter booking.com for pet friendly-most french hotels cater for dogs but not so many spanish ones..
Enjoy the scenery on the way down ceryainly in the pyranees!!!

Hi ya,

We recently stayed at Hotel Bellevue which is approx 18km from Spanish border.
Friendly family run hotel where rooms are done like small studio flats with kitchen area, ideal for refreshing cuppa. Parking is limited and would suggest you do as we do and e mail to reserve a place. (Parking on private driveway of hotel) Approximately 15 minutes off the motorway but definitely worth it as you’ll get a good break from tedious driving, and viiews from terrace restaurant are spectacular.

Hotel Bellevue
Allee Rostand, 64250 Cambo les Bains France

Have a good day people!

Try a little further for your overnight and stay at Eidelweiss hotel in Candanchu. Well worth the effort and so quiet no need to worry about secure parking

Have a look at Hotel Plazaola. Irurtzun on booking.com. great value for money, secure parking and very pet friendly. Its just about 30 kms over the border 2 mins from the motorway with a petrol station very close. We have stayed many times & it cannot be beaten.

I have mentioned them before, but I use Yelloh Village campsites where possible. I usually hire a mobile home for a couple of nights, and make the journey part of the holiday. For instance, I am driving down from St Malo at the beginning of September. I am driving down to St Emillion, near Bordeaux, and stopping for 2 nights. I then drive across through Tolouse and Carcassonne to Sant Pol for another 2 night stop at another site. I then drive down to Alegria, just south of Peniscola, to stay in a hotel for tonights, before completing the journey down to Rojales. The first 2 journeys are about 5.5hours driving, and the last day about 3.5 hours.
