Driving licence regulations when you reach 70

My Spanish driving licence expires in July 2022 & I'm 70 next month, can someone tell me if I need a test before the expiry date of my licence? I've been given conflicting advice so not sure.

You have to take a short test of eyesight, blood pressure and reaction before renewal of the spanish license.

You do not have to do anything until the expiry date on your licence.
I went for a test on my 70th birthday thinking it was necessary, but the clinic said no and to come back a couple of years later when the licence expired.

if you go to CCD ( Centro Clinic and Dental) just behind the waterfall in Torrevieja, you can make an appointment to have your driving license renewed when it is due to expire, which for most of us Brits means around your 70th Birthday.
They will test your eye sight and reactions, charge around 50€ and organise everything else. No need to go to the Traffico in Alicante.
Your license will be then valid until your 75th Birthday, whereas if you are renewing your UK license at age 70, it will only be valid for 3 years.

it will only be valid for the term the clinic recommend

I used Alone clinic in Guardamar, near Specsavers, and cost was 40€ for tests etc and they gave me a permiso whilst I await my new driving licence in the post>
