Driving Test/Lessons in English

Driving Test/Lessons in English

Postby DO2ES » Fri Feb 03, 2023 1:50 pm

What is the process for someone to obtain a Spanish driving licence?

Is it possible to get it in English?

What about hazard awareness, theory?

Where do they get a provisional?

Is there a minimum number of lessons required? Its an experienced driver.

A post in here mentions Orihuela dont take green A4 residencia certs, only TIE. Is there anywhere that does accept A4 green cert?

Whats the cheapest way to do it?

You need to sign up with a driving school to take a certain number of lessons. It must be a dual control car in case the examiner gets a bit worried. If you see a driving school then they can inform you of how many lessons you will need depending on your experience. They also take you through the Spanish highway code (yes, there really is one).

You can take the written test in English if your inform them first.
The practical is in Spanish.
You will need a medical before you start lessons.

No idea about the green card. Government still says they are acceptable but there have been some who reported they will only take a TIE even though it is not strictly necessary.
There is no provisional driving licence in Spain, the instructor must be with you at all times so you can't drive with a relative or friend.

I take it you're fed up of waiting for the governments to agreed on a protocol to change even though they say this is "imminent" and have been saying that for months.

Thanks for that.

Yeah the waiting seems like forever, so have to take the matter into our own hands.
